The ESID, or Electric Service Identifier, is a unique identifier assigned to a meter location in Texas. It’s used by retail electric providers (REPs) to identify the point where your electricity enters the power grid. This information can then be used to determine if there are any line issues in your area that have caused a disruption in service.

An ESID is a unique identifier assigned to an address by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT).

It is tied to a physical location, such as your home or business, and it is tied to a meter at your premise. The ESID is not tied to any one electric service provider and can be used for both residential and commercial accounts.

All retail electric providers in Texas must use these identifiers to identify service points.

The ESID is a unique identifier that serves as the location code for your service points and meters. ESIDs are assigned by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT), which regulates retail electric providers in Texas. All retail electric providers in Texas must use these identifiers to identify service points and meters, so if you have more than one meter at your residence or business, each meter will have its own ESID.

The ESID is tied to a physical location.

ESID is not tied to the name of the customer, to the meter or utility company.

The ESID is a unique identifier that tells you where your meter is located. It’s important to keep track of this number so you can give it to your electric company if they need help locating your service point. You can also use it when reporting outages or asking questions about your bill. If you have any questions about ESIDs, please contact us at info@myenergenie.com
